Rare piece of beautiful antique sterling flatware pattern made by one of the finest american silver maker. 
This item was a chrismas gift in 1873.
Gorham, rhod island, "palm" pattern (pat. 1871).
Serving piece - cheese scoop.
Marked on the back with set of gorham sterling hallmarks.
Engraved with beautiful original monogram (looks like "fh") and date: "des 24 1873" .

About 8 3/4 in. (22.3 cm) long.
  Weight:
About 2.2 troy oz. (70 grams) - good weight for the size.
  Condition:
Very good original antique unpolished condition. 
Some expected very minor handling marks and light age wear. 
Crisp details, never was polished on polishing wheel. 
Very difficult to photograph item - all dark spots you are seeing in the pictures is just a reflection and light tarnishing.
No repairs. 
Fine quality piece of rare antique american pattern.
