Very rare silver - gilt hunter's match safe / case.
Probably eastern european, maybe austrian or german, circa middle of 19th century.
Parcel - gilt, superb original "fire gilding".
Fine quality cast panels on both sides, hunting motif with crisp realistic details. 
Hand engraved "sacred heart" at the top of removable lid, engraved lion at the bottom.
Apparently unmarked. 
Guaranteed solid silver, 800/1000 silver standard (lower than sterling). 
Original silver - gilt wire rope (cable).
Made of very heavy gauge of silver.

Very good original antique condition with expected charming indication of age. 
Light handling marks, some dents (don't downgrade overall appearance or functionality). 
Original fire gilding is in very good original antique condition, shows expected age wear. 
No repairs.
