Bloodstone is a variety of chalcedony, which is cryptocrystalline quartz. Agate, jasper, and onyx are other types of chalcedony. Bloodstone is usually translucent to opaque.

Hand engraved silver-gilt mounts.

Scabbard and hilt mounts are not marked, guaranteed made of solid gilded silver - 800/1000 or higher silver standard.

Very good original antique condition with expected handling marks, light honest wear and charming indication of age. 
Blade is in very good antique condition with very minor wear and extremely light old pitting. Blade has been cleaned.
Silver-gilt mounts show light handling marks and minor dents.
Original gilding is excellent, about 97%-98% intact.
No play between blade and hilt parts. 
Old tight stable crack to stone grip - don't affect overall appearance and functionality. 
Significant age wear to original covering on scabbard.
