Central asia, probably turkmen, circa 18th century (swords with leather wrapped grip commonly associated with central asian region). 
Large iron hand guard, beautifully decorated. 
Iron end cup and scabbard fittings.
Leather wrapped grip.
Very massive superb quality blade is forged of precious "black" wootz damascus watered steel, also known as kara-khorasan (kara-taban). 
"true inlaid" gold islamic calligraphy cartouche on one side.
(stunning watered wootz pattern is well visible throughout entire blade, but would benefit from professional etching and polishing). 
Tooled leather over wood scabbard with iron suspension mounts. 
All original leather. 
Original leather covering to the tip of scabbard (drag).

About 40 in. (101.6 cm) long in scabbard (straight line).   
About 38 3/4 in. (98.5 cm) long out of scabbard.
Wide and heavy blade is about 33 7/8 in. (86 cm) long and 1 3/8 in. (3.5 cm) wide at widest point.
   condition: 
Overall very good solid original "battle ready" antique condition, shows honest wear and charming indication of age.
Uncleaned sharp blade is in excellent antique condition with few very minor nicks to cutting edge (nicks could be easily removed). 
Stunning gold inlaid cartouche on blade is 100% intact (true inlaid technique). 
Original black leather is very good, shows expected age wear. 
Minor damage to scabbard throat. 
Minor losses to leather at the throat.
Some play at the iron end cup on hilt.
Minor restoration to the tip of the scabbard - mentioned just for 100% accuracy. 
Absolutely magnificent, uncleaned collectors grade example - pictures don't do justice.
