Austrian ( austro - hungarian ), circa 19th century.
Fine quality hand engraved decoration on front of the blade.  
Solid silver blade and handle, both marked with austrian silver hallmarks for 1867 - 1922 period. 
800/1000 silver standard (lower than sterling). 
Beautiful original "hl" monogram on one side of the handle (mono is not deep and can be easily polished off).

Approximately 8 1/16 in. (20.5 cm) long.  
  Weight:
Silver weight is about 2+ troy oz (64 grams) - feels heavy for the size. 
Handle is not weighted. 
  Condition:
Very good original antique condition with light normal wear and minor charming indication of age. Normal expected handling marks and light scratches.  
Very difficult to photograph item - all dark and light spots that appear in the pictures is just a reflection and light tarnishing, may need more cleaning and hand polishing.
