Magnificent antique russian large silver basket. 
Very unusual design, outstanding quality.
About 8 1/8 in. (20.7 cm) diameter and 6 1/2 (16.5 cm) high with handle up.
Weight is about 20 troy oz. - 623 grams. Good weight for the size! Made of heavy gauge of silver.
Excellent original antique condition with minimum amount of normal wear. Original gilding inside is excellent. Looks like old professional repair to handle, unnoticeable in real life, mentioned just for 100% accuracy - please see last picture. 
No major dents - all interior imperfections that appears in the pictures is just a reflection.
Marked under the base and on 2 sides of handle with russian silver hallmarks for st petertsburg, 84 silver standard. Maker's mark "al". 
Aron lydikain (lydicke) silversmith, born 1819, had a shop and retail store in st. Petersburg 1849 - 1881. Examples of his work are in the collection of state historical museum in moscow (postnikova-loseva book, page 187).
