High quality workmanship throughout, meticulous attention to details. 
European, probably german, solingen made elegant sword.
French hussar style brass mounted hilt. 
Post napoleonic wars period, circa first half of 19th century.
These type of swords became popular in europe during napoleonic wars.
Gorgeous, dramatically carved hand forged blade with long falce edge (elman).
Blue / gold decoration on both sides of the blade.
Nickel plated steel scabbard.

About 39 9/16 in. (100.5 cm) long in scabbard (straight line).   
About 38 5/16 in. (97.3 cm) long out of scabbard.
Blade is about 33 3/16 in. (84.3 cm) long.
   condition: 
Overall very good original antique condition, shows normal honest wear and charming indication of age for about 200 years old sword.
Blade is in very good original condition with only minor expected wear. 
Some indication of age to bluing, nice gold decoration.
Handling marks, very (very!) Light dents and wear to plating on scabbard. 
Expected honest age wear to original leather on grip, original wires are loose. 
No play to hilt parts.
